My Wild Card FAQ

How Do I Play?

Team Selection

In My Wild Card, you are building a 5-player football team, using real professional football players and data. Create your team from a grid of the top 25 projected players for that week. First choose your Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Tight End, and Defense.

Card Selection:

Next select a Wild Card for each player in your team. Each player position has specific cards that can be played on it, in addition there are flex cards that can be assigned to any position. The cards track the player's performance and reward My Wild Card points based on specific metrics of that player's game-day performance.

Game Time:

Each player on your team will begin scoring points when their game for the week begins. The game window begins with kickoff of the first Thursday night game and ends Monday night after completion of the last Monday game.

How Does Scoring Work?

Points are scored by your chosen players for their respective positions in real-world football games. These are Fantasy Points.

Points scored by cards are called Wild Card Points. These are awarded by players meeting certain metrics defined by the card played on them. Some cards come with a penalty for failing to meet that metric.

The total score for a player is the addition of both their Fantasy Points and Wild Card Points. The total score for your 5-player team is the sum of all 5 players earned points. However, there can also be points deducted from your score due to your opponent(s) using an Attack Card, these will be marked as “stolen points.”

During the live game window player scores will show up in one of three ways.

1. An em-dash “—” means that this player has not played yet.

2. A green dot means that this players game in in progress and this score is not final

3. No modifier means the game is complete and that score is set.

Can I Change My Picks?

You can edit your player and card selections until the start of gameplay on Thursday nights. Once games have started editing will be disabled and your only option is to use the Halftime Adjustment.

Halftime Adjustment:

Once games have begun your lineup and card selections are locked, users do have the opportunity to make some modifications. A user can spend TOIbucks to change the card assigned to a specific player. Halftime Adjustments only work if that player has not begun the second half of their game. Players that are not eligible for the Halftime Adjustment will appear dimmed in the UI.

What is an Attack Card?

Attack cards earn points by stealing them from your opponent(s) and adding them to your own total. The total negative effect of an attack card is split across the league’s group equally.

For example, the card “Night Train” will give your Defense +5 Wild Card Points if they have one or more interceptions. If there are 5 other players in the league, each of those players will lose 1 point. This will display in the Attacks Against section of the league dashboard.

How Do I Get Wild Cards?

When you play for the first time, you are given a free Starter Deck of 18 common cards, 3 per position and 3 flex cards. New cards can be purchased in The Card Shop. Starter cards are only given to new players.

How Do I Create My Own League?

New leagues can be created by any player. If you create a league, you will automatically become that league’s Commissioner. Leagues can be created by clicking the “Pro Football” tab and then clicking “Team of the Week Top 25” in the Host Your Game section.

Commissioners first set the 25-player grid (if you do not want to edit your grid hit the “Done” button), then give the league a name and create its cover art. Then you will select your lineup of players and cards. Then you can invite others to join.

Once a league is created, it will exist for an entire season, but you and the other players can join and leave at any time.

Why Does My Card Say Cooldown?

In My Wild Card cards have a cooldown period that is league specific. The same card may not be used in back-to-back weeks in the same league. This cooldown will last until the next week is in session. A card on cooldown in one league may not be on cooldown in another. During these periods, try new cards!

What is the gameplay window?

Weekly games take place on a seasonal schedule that fully corresponds with the real-world professional football schedule. Games will be held, in most regular season weeks, on Thursdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

At the end of every week (after all real-world matches have been played) the total scores will be assigned for each team. This includes pro-league games from Thursday to Monday night. The week’s total scores are compiled and locked-in as soon as all Monday night games have concluded.

What is the Commissioner Community League?

Our on-going weekly community league, hosted by The Commish. See how you stack up against The Commish and the rest of our community. Check back each week to see what else is new and discover surprises.
The Commish Community League is live all season long, but there is no commitment to longterm participation. Play only in the weeks that you want. Team selection opens every Tuesday morning; pick your team, pick your cards, and watch the points roll-in.
